After the contest, club business
was disposed of and plans were
discussed for the club’s anniver-
sary dinner, to include husbands,
and the date was set for the eve-
ning of April 5, 1956.
A refreshment plate carrying
out the St. Patrick day motif was
served to Mrs. Ted Bones, Mrs.
W. M. Bates, Mrs. Sanford John-
son, Mrs. David Harkrider, and
Sandra Vardaman, guests; and
members Annie B. Kirk, Helen
Witt, Emalie London, Ruth Var-
daman, Elsie Eschle, Nettie Fields,
Jessie Faye Tucker, Troy Reno,
Cleo Nix, Noreen Culver, Nola
Hunt, Betty Hudson, Truman
Goodlett, Glyn Kirby, and the
hostesses, Velma Evans and Juan-
ita Reed.

Council held its first meeting of
the year in the Extension office
at the Courthouse in Panhandle,
at 4 P.M. Monday, March 5.
County officers for 1956 were
elected as follows: Chairman,
Mary Lou Quirk, Groom; Vice
Chairman, Vivian Warminski,
White Deer; Secretary, Kay Law-
son, Panhandle; Treasurer, Louise
Harrell, Groom; Reporter, Ellen
Latta, Groom; Parliamentarian,
Carolyn Peters, White Deer.
The Council voted to permit
club vice presidents to be mem-
bers of Council when the club
president holds a county office.
A 25 cent gift for each entry in
the Spring contests was author-
ized. A sympathy card was sent
to Irene Detten Whose sister, Mrs.
Rosemary Tuggle, a former Coun-
cil member, passed away recently.
The Spring contests slated for
April 7 at Panhandle were dis-
cussed by Mrs. George Latta,
County 4-H chairman.
Present were Carolyn Peters,
Vivian Warminski, Frances Bed-
norz, and Mrs. Chas. Warminski
from the Golden Rule Club, White
Deer; Kay Lawson, Sherry Hear-
ron, Mrs. Kermit Lawson, Pan-
handle Club; Mary Lou Quirk,
Frances Denton, Louise Harrell,
and Mrs. Glynn D Harrell repre-
senting the Groom Corner Clover
Club; Glynda Harrell and Ellen
Latta, representing the Juniorette
club, and Mrs. George Latta.
The next meeting will be held

Neighbors Club will be hostesses.

and Travel,” and everyone is cor-
dially invited to attend the meet-
ing Monday afternoon, March 12.
