pioneer citizens, Mrs. Polly
Morgan, passed away this week.
Mrs. Morgan was born March
2, 1854, and would have been
86 years old if she had lived
until Friday of next week. For
45 years she had lived in this
county and had been quite ac-
tive until the past eight years
when her health began to fall.
She was married to P A. Mor-
gan who -died in 1828.
Mrs. Jack Youngblood (nee
Clara Bowman* arrived from
her home at Eugene, Oregon,
on the 16th, for a visit with her
mother, Mrs. Chas Bowman of
Star and her brother, F. P.
Bowman and wife of Goldth-
waite, also with her three sis-
ters. Mrs. J. W. Williamson of
the parental home, Mra. Joe
Peck of Georgetown, and Mra.
Sam Williams of Comanche.
Mra. Youngblood is a World
War Veteran, having served as
a nurse in the Red Cross in
France in 1918.
Miss Constance Trent of
Goldthwaite and other mem-
bers from the class of Mrs. J.
Roscoe Golden, S. M. U. voice
teacher, will broadcast madri-
gals in a program over Station
WRR at Dallas at 2:45 p m.,
Tuesday, February 27.
James Oscar Burns, who is
in the U. S. Navy stationed at
San Diego, California, has writ-
ten his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Oscar Burns, that he attended
