day a negro highwayman shot and
killed one Italian and robbed another.
The kiling occurred at Westwego. a
suburb, early this morning. The police
have not yet identified the dead Italian

Under Control.
Manila, Oct. 4.—For the twenty-four
hours ending at 8 o'clock this morning
seven new cases of cholera have been
reported. Two of these cfres are only
suspects. There hes been one death.
HF. Broman, an American bookkeeper,
who was reported yesterday as having
been afrcken with cholera, is. It is low
repgrted, ill from another cause and

ster Camerson. 61 years old, e merchant
of El Paso, Texas, was drowned here
this evening. With F H. Bulford of
Bellaire and S. D Pidball of Buffalo,

river about half a mlle above the falls
and where the bank was very steep.
