means of acquainting the people of
South America with American industry
and American manufacturing the Bu-
reau of Foreign and Domestic Com-
merce will soon begin a campaign in
the lagrer South American cities with
the exhibition of moving pictures.
The judgment of the District Court
of El Paso County denying bail to W.
with nine cases of burglary, was con-
cluded in the Criminal District Court
Wednesday morning. Beryman plead
guilty and was sentenced to two years
;u iie penitentiary for each of five
cases, four of the nine having been “18"
Judge William von Rosenberg.
Th* will of Martha Penn was ad-
mitted to probate n the County Court
Wednesday morning. Property of about
11200 is involved in the will.

Associate Judge Harper, it is held that
by the terms of Section 1851, of the Re-
vised Civil Statutes, the town of Avoca,
whether it is an incorporated town or
not, can never assume control or
schools of Avoca school district. ‘and
the penal code only providing for pun-
ishment of treasurers of cities and
towns which have assumed control of
its schools who hava failed to make a
report, its necessarily follows the in-
formation charges appellant with the
violation of the penal code of this State,
and this case must be reversed and dis-
missed."
The court affirmed twenty-two
cases, reversed and remanded three, re-
versed and dismissed one. reversed and
granted ball in one. Thirty- two cases
were submitted and four cases were set
down for submission on Nov. 1.
Among the cases affirmed were:
Henry Sparks. from McLennan County,
murder, twenty-five years; Nicholas
Gomes, from Fayette, murder, twenty-
five years; Clarence Wood, from Cole-
man. rape by force, five years; Lee
Vansickle, from Potter, manslaughter,
five years.
Th© cases reversed and remanded
were: G. O. Kinehen, from Tarrant
County, aggravated assault, $50 fine;
Boone Martin. from Somervell, violat-
ing prohibition law; Addie McWilliams,
from Dallas.
