Like to get back $3.00 to $4.00 for every
dollar you invest in nitrogen? Many farmers
will this year by side-dressing com and milo
with Spencer Anhydrous Ammonia! Because
you get so much nitrogen at such a low price,
Spencer Anhydrous Ammonia actually gives
you a higher return per dollar.
A concentrated nitrogen, Spencer Anhydrous
Ammonia gives you the highest amount of
nitrogen of any nitrogen source—and corn
and milo must have plenty of nitrogen to
make high yields. For example, by the time
corn is waist-high, it’s taking four pounds of
nitrogen from every acre of cornland, every
day!
So don’t take chances on nitrogen starvation
cutting your yields. Side-dress your com or
milo right away with Spencer Anhydrous
Ammonia—the 82% nitrogen! It goes deep in
the root zone where plants can make quick
use of it.

WASHINGTON (AP)—The Agri-
culture Department forecast re-
cently a whopping 13 million bushel
boost in Texas wheat production
for the harvest which is about to
end. This is 30 million bushels
above last year.
The department forecast a
Texas harvest of 89,677,000 bush-
els. This compares with the pre-
diction a month ago of 76,600,000.
The harvest outcome in many
parts of Texas was known to be
well above early expectations.
Production will be much greater
although the acreage devoted to
wheat was only slightly above that
of 1959.
The oats harvest this year was
26,520,000 bushels, about 100,000
more than the previous season.
Barley production was forecast
at 8,763,000 bushels, as compared
with 5,752,000 in 1959.
The -department did not forecast
production of grain sorghum, one
of the major Texas crops, but did
estimate farmers planted 7,797,000
acres, compared with 7,307,000
acres harvested last year when
277,666,000 bushels were gathered. I
Nationally, the Agriculture De-
partment forecast the wheat har-
vest at 1,347,468,000 bushels.
