Six-B made a large card with
yellow construction paper that said
“Happy 80th Birthday, Mr. Scott.”
On the inside on white paper it
said, “6-B would like to wish you,
Mr. Scott, a very Happy Birth-
day.” They drew a birthday cake
with 80 candles, and then signed
their names; on the opposite page
they made colored designs. Then
they made a large envelope for the
card.
The 1972-73 Tiger’s Tale also
wishes Mr. Scott a very happy 80th
birthday.
Mr. S. S. Scott, semi-retired cus-
todian of the Groom Schools, cele-
brated his 80th birthday on Janu-
ary 30. The elementary grades all
paid tribute to "Scotty” on his
special day.
The first grade card was done
nn pastel colors with large daisies
on it. It read “Happy 80th Birth-
day, Mr. Scott.” All the children
signed their names in pastel colors.
Each second grader wrote his
own individual card. The teacher,
Mrs. Lois Campbell, placed their
cards on a big piece of red paper
with yellow letters saying, “Happy
Birthday, Mr. Scott.” A Donald
Duck also helped decorate the
card.
The third grade card was deco-
rated with flowers of many colors
and the saying, “Roses are red,
violets are blue, sugar is sweet and
we all love you!” All of the stu-
dents signed it.
To say “I love you” to Mr. Scott
on his 80th birthday, each fourth
graders signed' his name to a king-
sized birthday card. Blue (for
boys) was chosen for the back-
ground. At the top of the card
was a small girl running with an
envelope in her hand addressed to
Mr. Scott. Another child at the
bottom held a page saying, “Wei
love you.” The greeting on the
card read—“To one who is 39 and
holding—Happy Birthday. ’ ’
The fifth grade did several things
for Mr. Scott. Mrs. Bess Crown-
over, the teacher, baked him a co-
conut cake. The class displayed a
poster saying “Happy Birthday.” ,
At noon they sang “Happy Birth- j
day” in the lunchroom. It was so I
