of Houston of 62 years, died at the
residence of his son and daughter.

urday at 5:15 p. m. He was command-
er of the George B. McClellan Post
No. 9, Grand Army of the Republic,
a past state commander of the Grand
Army of the Republic, and honorary
member of the auxiliary. Women’s Re-
lief Corps, George B. McClellan Corps
No. 16, an honorary member of the
Daughters of Union Veterans and an
honorary member of the American
Legion. He is survived by one son.
Mannie Hart; a daughter, Mrs. Henry
F. Lahourcade, both of Houston; two
grandchildren, Carol Lahourcade of
Houston and Mrs. Albert M. Dreyfus
of Shreveport, La., and two great-

EDMONDS—Mrs. Josephine Ed
monds, 82, wife of Joseph Edmonds,
died at her home, 2910 Smith, at 5:30
a. m. Sunday. Mrs. Edmonds had
lived in Houston for the past 60 years.
She was born at Baton Rouge, La.,
August 31, 1849. She is survived b”
her husband, Joseph Edmonds of
Houston; five daughters, Mrs. Leo
Steiner of Columbus, Mrs. W. L.
Griffin, Miss Leola Edmonds, Mrs. J.
V. Green and Mrs. J. G. Greve, all
of Houston; a son, Roy Edmonds of
St Louis, Mo.; a sister, Mrs. Virginia
Berg of New Orleans, La., a brother,
C. N. Bear of Chicago; eight grand-
children and a number of nieces and
Joseph Romick, 19 years old and
pupil of Professor Gregor Jassel of
Houston, departed for Budapest, Hun-
gary, to enter The Royal Franz Liszt
Conservatory of Music and to be under
the guidance of the greatest living
composers of today. Professors Jeno
Hubay and Ortoker Sevcik Young
Mr. Romick intends to stay abroad
four years and then make his debut
in rhe United States
Mr Romick will be remembered in
Houston and elsewhere when he was
heard over station KPRC, before he
left for Chicago, where he won a free
scholarship at the Chicago Musical
College. Joseph owes part of his sue
cess to Prof. Jassel and is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. M Romick of Hemp
stead.
