his leadership. His commitment

said Weiner.

with foreign countries or com-

have been told that they cannot
deal with certain other American

“The argument against Senate
Bill 400, that it will negatively
affect business, is incorrect.
There is no precedance which in-
dicates that this legislation will
affect the Texas economy. An
examination of the legislation
will demonstrate that it places
no restriction on any individuals
or businesses to do business with
any foreign country. This legisla-
tion protects Texas citizens and
businesses from discrimination.
“As business men, we are in-
tricately concerned about our
economy," said Goldberg. “How-
ever, we are equally concerned
about those principles which are
America’s unique contribution
to civilization. We encourage
greater trade and cooperation
between America and the Inter-
national community, but we will
not sit idley by when foreign
powers try to intimidate Texas
businesses. With whom we do
business is our choice as Ameri-
cans and we will continue to
make that choice. We invite and
encourage the elected officials of
this State to join us in the rededi-
cation of this American principle.
