State College.

two degrees from Peabody Col-
lege, Nashville, Tenn., the mas-

Mr. Martin is a 1961 bachelor
of arts graduate of Austin Col-
lege. He is married to the former
Evelyn May of Farmersville,
Tex., and they have three chil-
dren.

SAN DIEGO, CALIF. — Ma-
rine Private Joe K. Thompson,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Dillon
Thompson of 207 Anthony St.,
McKinney, Tex., was graduated
from eight weeks of recruit train-
ing at the Marine Corps Recruit
Depot here.
He will now undergo four
weeks of individual combat train-
ing and four weeks of basic spec-
ialist training in his military job
feld before being assigned to a
permanent unit.

on Monday evening. It proved a
most successful and beautiful oc-
casion. A prince and princess,
who had been chosen from each
room, made the royal court com-
plete. Various numbers of songs,
recitations and Christmas music
were rendered by the school stu-
dents. The event was sponsored
by the FFA and FHA depart-
ments of P.H.S. Mrs. Billye Hart-
man and Mr. Kenneth Pruett are
instructors of these groups.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Wilson, Mar-
ion and Brenda, were shopping at
North Park, Thursday evening.

about ten days in Baylor Hos-
pital in Dallas. We are glad to
report the good news to his many

spent Thanksgiving holidays with
his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Her-
man Robinson.
Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Cashon re-
cently visited Mrs. W. H. Eilen-
burg and son, Billie, in McKin-
ney.
Misses Ollie and Nettie Doyle
have returned home after sev-
eral days in Dallas, where Miss
Ollie received eye treatment.
They returned home by way of
McKinney, where they visited
friends and relatives and tended
to business.

Mrs. R. T. George of Grand

Scenic slides of the peoples
and countries of Southeast Asia
will be shown by Bob Ferrill at
Wesley Memorial Methodist
Church, Sunday evening, Decem-
ber 11, at 6:00 p.m. The public is
invited to attend.
Mr. Ferrill, an employee of
Mobil Oil Company, his wife and
four children have just returned
from Singapore where they have
lived for the past two years. They
are being transferred to Okla-
homa City. Mrs. Ferrill, the for-
mer Sherrie McNeil, is the daugh-
ter of Mrs. Connie McNeil of Mc-
Kinney, and is a member of Wes-
ley Memorial.

Africa.

Anna, Tex., was graduated from
eight weeks of recruit training at
the Marine Corps Recruit Depot

training and then, after leave at
home, will report to his first
Marine Corps assignment.
