an incoming ocean liner today caP-
sized a navy hydro-airplane in
which two student aviators were

The United States naval balloon
piloted by Lieutenant La J. Roth
and hl saide. Lieut. T. B. Null,
which started from Indianapolis
July 4 in the national elimination
race, was brought here tonight by
the tug Frank I. Stanley, which
found it collapsed and watersoaked
in Lake Erie about 26 miles south-
east of here.
The basket of the balloon was not
found, contradicting earlier reports
received here.
