In Vicksburg Office Plan
Clatters of dishes and typewriters,
odors of soup and ammonia are to be
separated. in July-August '42 Vicks-
burg erected a 100' x 100' frame cafe-
teria building adjoining factory. In
September engineering and prod-
uction invited themselves in, as fac-
tory was too noisy, breezy, dusty, and
general offices in old Warren County
Courthouse were too far-12 miles
-away.
Other departments working close-
ly with factory sprang up in the
building. In May '43 general offices
arrived from town. That really jam-
med.things. Business visitors, greeted
at the door by the snack counter,
hardly know whether to ask for a
bottle of pop or Ray Gieszl. But at
last the long promised office build-
ing, 150' x 144', is to be built.
In the floor plan below, it will be
noted, departments are not partioned
off, but all occupy one large room.Preparing for transition from war
order taking and non-selling to post-
war selling, LeTourneau sales execu-
tives and representatives with man-
agement, advertising, service, traffic,
credit and other department heads
and assistants were in a 6-day annual
sales meeting this week Monday thru
Friday at Pere Marquette Hotel,
Peoria.
Fitting LeTourneau equipment.in-
to the postwar construction program
was principal subject for discussion,
said Gen. Sales Mgr. Ed R. Galvin,
chairman of all sessions. Meeting
concludes with banquet at Pere Mar-
quette Saturday evening.
