one is confident that the $675,-
000 goal set for 1952 will be
met and Houston will be one of
the first communities in the
United Statestoreport the good
news. The “pace-setters” will
meet with Dr. Joseph Schwartz,
executive vice-president of the
United Jewish Appeal, at a
dinner which should give a
. definite indication as to the
outcome of the entire cam-
paign.
Enthused with a fine re-
sponse on the part of the com-
munity, Martin Nadelman,
chairman of the 1952 effort,
is spurring his appointed com-
mittee chairmen to quick, ac-
tion. Additional appointments
have been announced for Di-
vivsion leadership. Mrs. Ben
Battelstein, who did a remark-
able job in 1951, has again
taken the chairmanship of the
Women’s Big Gifts Division.
A seasoned campaigner and
fund raiser, Mrs. Battelstein
has enlisted a top escheleon of
co-workers and promises to
have the women show that
1952 is not only a leap year
but the women’s year.
Another seasoned veteran
who has undertaken a wide re-
sponsibility is Mrs. Morris
Glesby, who heads the Wo-
