BAVARIAN COURT GIVES ILSE
KOCH NEW TWO YEAR TERN
Munich (JTA) — Ilse Koch,
widow of a Nazi concentration
camp commander and a war
criminal in her own right, has
been sentenced to a two-year
term in a labor camp by the
last denazification court in Ba-
varia. Her sentence, however,
is purely nominal since she is
serving a life sentence imposed
by a German court which
found her guilty of war crimes
against Germans.
In Dortmund, five would-be
Hitlers were sentenced to
terms ranging from six to 14
months following conviction by
West German authorities on
charges of forming a secret
Nazi society with branches
throughout the Ruhr. While the
membership was small, partici-
pants included a number of
fanatical Nazi Party leaders
among whom were some who
previously had served time in
Allied war crimes prisons.
