Last week, I had the pleasure of
teaching another Community
Education class titled “Every Kid A
Winner.” What a joy it was to inter-
act with parents who care about
how to have positive influence on
their children. We as parents get so
little, if any, training on how to be
effective parents. Experience turns
out to be a primary source of learn-
ing. One of the primary topics for
tion. Through partnerships
between parents and educators can
we assure that “every kid will be a
winner” in our system. You are
encouraged to get involved. In fact,
research shows that successful
students predictably and typically
have good home support in the
educational process with the
schools.
I am often told by parents that
they-feel awkward asking questions
about the progress of their child in
school. My question is, if you don’t,
who will? We welcome you in Allen
ISD.
Davenport is superintendent of the
Allen Independent School District.
HE WAS APPOINTED
TO SERVE A TWO-YEAR
TERMAS THE FIRST
JUDGE OF COUNTY
COURT AT LAW NO. 3
