for Mrs. Starr.
Ted Brown, electrical dept., reported in
government hospital in Chicago with nervous
breakdown.
Traffic Mgr. E. J. Davis called to Cleveland
this week by death of uncle.
Chief Draftsman Loiell Hyler has designed
a 3-surface revolving drafting table to permit
draftsmen to work on several phases of a de-
sign without removing drawings. The shop
is building 5.
Production orders: 25 M Carryalls, 50 G
Carryalls, 25 Z Carryalls, 25 K8 BDs.
Bob Warren is moving up from office mes-
senger to blueprint & equipment records dept.
Production lines on Z & L Carryalls have
doubled output to produce 2 scrapers a day
instead of one. The first production W Carry-
all will be out this week.
For Toccoa, Purchasing Agent H. B. Miller
has bot 3 No. 1375 Delta drill presses, a 3"
Landis spreading machine, a model DB Dem-
co drill, a model JD DoAll saw, a Toledo
portable threading machine, an Oliver drill
point thinner & a coupler of 36"x90" tires
for one of the Tournapuils.
Stanley Means leaves Monday on a 2 or 3
months' tour of government agencies in the
Southwest & on the West Coast.
Serviceman Jack Lewis has been storm
bound in New York for more than a week.
Basket Ball: Wednesday nite Welders in
second place & T. P. & W. in first meet at
Y for Industrial League championship.
DR J. H. Wilson visited plant Tuesday.Paul Fulford, export dept., married Mrs. ,
Doris Mathis, Jan. 28 at Davenport.
A. B. Cook of Gibbs-Cook Tractor Co.,
Des Moines, Iowa, was a plant visitor Satur-
day & Arthur Lacey of Indiana Equipment
Co., Indianapolis distributor, & Wm. H.
Ziegler, Minneapolis distributor, were Tues-
day visitors.
Export DR Neil Chrisman was due to ar-
rive in Rio de Janeiro today enroute from 1
Lima & Buenos Aires. Ed. Bookout sails from
Marseilles, France, 23rd for Alexandria.
Charles Deppler sails sometime next week for
London to handle service in "Cap" Miller's
European territory. Harlow Newton, Central
American representative, has left us for a
partnership in the firm of Jose Maria Arce,
Costa Rica distributors, with headquarters at
San Jose.
The new pin furnace got so hot last week
it melted itself & is being rebuilt out of high
temperature materials guaranteed for 3500.
R.G.'s 100 yd. dream Buggy is on the
boards & is to be over 42' long or about
54%' with the B Tournapull.
Frank Gilles, scraper assembly, Saturday
nite at Brimfield smashed his new Pontiac in-
to a culvert, dislocated his shoulder, broke his
jaw and landed in St. Francis Hospital for a
long session.
Sidesheets & bottom straighteners in scraper
body dept. went on standards Monday. Fin-
ishers in scraper assembly go on standards
next Monday & body straighteners to follow
shortly.
With domestic sales up 101%, Federal
sales 66% & Export 64%, January business
was 86% ahead of January '38 Sales leaders
were: DRs Joe Stone, Art Bodenhamer, Cap
Miller, L D. LeTourneau & J. K. Harper in
the order named.
