BOWLING: Considerable interest shown
in Bowling, having 160 signers on peti-
tions circulated in shop and offices.
Twenty-four teams will be organized
among day men and office, and eight
teams from night shift. From all ap-
pearances, we will have a very interest-
ing bowling season. Teams will be or-
ganized and captains elected this week
as Season starts first week in Sept.
Wilson Kimmell, Payroll Dept., being
transferred to Personnel Office.
Guy Arthur in charge of Industrial
Relations at this plant.SOFTBALL: Inter-Plant League resumed
play at Glen Oak Park. For information
as to Diamond, Team or Date, see sched-
ule on Bulletin Board. We have some
good teams and are expecting to see
some interesting games.
Oh Where, Oh Where has our Girls'
Team gone? What's the matter, girls?
We'd like to have you continue with the
ball teams.
The Welders are still going strong and
according to their Mgr., Eddie Gray,
they are certain to win YMCA Tourna-
ment. How about more rooters at next
game? You'll enjoy it and it will help
the fellows a lot.
HORSESHOES: Carl Rager says Tourna-
ment is moving along fine; also that due
to fact that games are scheduled in ad-
vance, all games must be played as
scheduled unless other arrangements are
made with Carl. Semi-Finals will prob-
ably be played next week.
GOLF: Remember, folks, if you want a
Handicap Golf Tournament, scores must
be in by Sept. 4th.
CAMERA CLUB: Sammy Pierson reports
better attendance at last meeting and
states that the new developers really
"develops". Next meeting, Sept. 4th, at
Sammy's house, 302 Illinois St., Peoria
Heights. Movies will be shown & dis-
cussed. Everyone interested is welcome
whether you belong to Club or not.
BAND: Wilson Kimmel reports better
response for Band, but he needs a. few
more names yet.
Speaker for next week Shop Meeting,
Tuesday and Wednesday, Sept. 4th &
5th, Noon and Night, will be Rev. Harold
Van Broekhoven of Dallas, Texas.
Mr. and Mrs. R. G. LeTourneau and
family desire to express their apprecia-
tion for the many kind expressions of
sympathy received during their recent
bereavement.
ENGAGEMENTS: Phyllis Blair, Cost Ac-
counting, announces engagement to Bill
Marshall. Wedding to be Sept. 28th.
George McMullen, Small Parts Dept.,
announces engagement to Eunice Un-
sicker of Tremont, Ill.
WEDDING BELLS: John Benson, Print-
ing Dept., and Miss Mary Charlotte
Welles of Minneapolis, Minn., were mar-
ried Wed., Aug. 21st, in Minneapolis.
Clair Weller, Standards Clerical, mar-
ried to Miss Frances Vander Meer of
Three Oaks, Mich., Aug. 23rd at 8 P.M.
