Miss Rosie Vargas, Miss Boerne of 1974, will relinquish her crown
Saturday, April 5th, when her successor is chosen from this year’s
participants in the annual Miss Boerne Pageant sponsored by the
Boerne Lions Club. Rosie had a wonderful year during her reign
and was certainly a credit to Boerne and to the Boerne Lions Club
—which she represented at their District Convention in Eagle Pass
and on a trip to Ontario, Canada. In addition to selecting Miss
Boerne for 1975, the judges will select a Little Miss Boerne and
a Little Mister Boerne. Vieing for the honor of Little Miss Boerne
will be Valerie Carroll, Angela Leal, Dorothy Schwarz, Sharon
Calhoun, Jenifer Nelson, Laura Duennenberg, Cynthia Graham,
Kelly Urbanec, Karan White, Susan Anderson, Michelle Beckett,
Ellen Cross, Lisa Houghtling, Valerie Martin, Jennifer McCord,
and Elsie Duffer. Little Mister Boerne aspirants include Brian
Cobb, James Justice, Curtis Lang, Wayne Stribling, John Ammann
Paul Jennings, Jason LeBleu, David Morton, Travis Gish, Steven
Schroeder, Trey White, Kirk Wolff, Ronald Wood, James Buck, Jr.,
b William Butcher HI, and Glenn Allamon. Names of, the contestants

No seniors will be accepted. Girls must be 15 years of age or
older. They must be from our school system, either public of Cath-
olic schools. This is not a “county” festival.
) The girls will meet at the Trophy Room of the Antlers Restau-
rant at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11, in sportswear or casual dress.
At this time, they will meet the judges individually and have the
first round of judging. At 7:45, they will meet at the river and
be taken down on boats for the final part of the judging in German
costume.
Sponsors are responsible for a $5.00 entrance fee (to be mailed
with application) and to supply a decorated car at the Berges Fest
parade on Saturday, June 14.
If your girl 33 selected the new Miss Berges Fest, Princess, or
Duchess, cars will be provided.
We must make clear that if a girl is picked Miss Berges Fest,
she will be expected to go to at least seven parades in and around
Kendall County to represent the Festival.
There will be radio and television appearances also. For these
reasons, she must not compete for any other titles until her reign
as Miss Berges Fest is completed in June 1976.
