DELL CITY TO REVIVE
LOCAL STOCK SHOW
4-H and FFA leaders have
made plans to restart the local
livestock show. Tentative plans
have been made to have the
show on Saturday, January 11,
at the county fair barn west of
Dell City. A local show has
not been held in Dell City
since 1983.
Exhibitors will be members of
the Dell City FFA or Dell Valley
4-H and will be competing for
ribbons and trophies. There
will be no premium sale with
the show.
Mark Standlee of Seminole,
Texas has been named as the
judge of the event.
4-H livestock group leader
Gerald Gentry has been the
primary organizer of the show.
A meeting to discuss plans
has been set for Thursday,
December 19, beginning at 7:00
p. m. at the Dell City Farm
Supply. Anyone interested in
contributing time or input to
the show is encouraged to
attend.
'This will be a great oppor-
tunity for our students to get a
practice show under their belts
before they get to county and
major shows", says Dell City
FFA Advisor Tom Maynard.

For many of us, I am sure, Christmas is a time of sharing. A time
to help those less fortunate. A trip to El Paso attest to the needs many
people have. And we have less fortunate that would appreciate our
help even closer. It is my prayer and hope that we not forget those
in need this season.
Last week I received a letter from Oleg, a Russian with whom I
correspond. He wrote that he and his family spend ALL their time
just trying to survive. I realize my needs and wants pale to insigni-
ficance beside his. I feel that we must try to help these people
survive the winter. I encourage you to give generously to organiza-
tions that will work to help the Russian people. There are several
organizations that will see that the total of your gift goes to its
intended purpose.
