The movie version of the miracle is somewhat
similar to many of the so-called healing services con-
ducted by "faith-healers" today. A man on crutch-
es is motivated to walk across the stage without aid?
He slowly lays his crutches aside and begins attempt-
ing to walk. He and the audience are amazed that
he can take step after joyful step without falling.
However awkward it may be, his walk is hailed as
a miracle.

When Jesus, the apostles, and selected disciples
healed a person, it was not the power of psychology
working on the person's mind and body in a mo-
ment of excitement. Nor did the person merely
start getting better. The Holy Spirit healed the per-
son instantly and completely. Observable physical
defects such as leprosy and maimed limbs were in-
cluded among the healings and were instantly cor-
rected.

In the Bible account, the woman was com-
pletely healed: ". . . and immediately the rose up

two inspired accounts of the same healing likewise
mention that she arose and served-(Matt. 8:15; Mk.

The miracles of the Bible were true miracles.
They accomplished the purposes for which they
were intended. We should not accept any diluted a
versions of Biblical miracles. Neither should we be V
deceived by imitation miracles performed today.
