Property Owners Only Have
Six More Days To
Avoid Penalty
Property owners with delin-
qunt taxes due for any year as
far back as 1885 today were
' warned by Tax Collector L. P.
Card that they have but six more
days in which to pay and escape
penalty and interest.
The Legislature made possible
the payment of delinquent taxes
without penalty and interest, set-:
ting a December 31 deadline.
Mr. Card said about 30 taxpay-
ers a day are taking advantage of
the remission plan, which removes
a 10 per cent penalty plus inter-
est at the rate of 6 per cent an-
nually from delinquent taxes.
Letters have been written to
4000 property owners whose
taxes are delinquent, advising,
them that unless the taxes are
paid by December 31, suits will
be filed. The letters were writ-
ten by the tax department of the
district attorney’s office.
Sody water ain’t going to wean
them either."

Questionnaires Are Sent Out To
Employers
Division chairmen in the
"Share-the-Work" campaign will
meet next week to complete their
city organization, General Chair-
man J. Robey Penn announced
today. Each chairman will select
assistants.
Meanwhile, the central execu-

ports from the larger employers
of the city who have been asked
to supply information on the
number of men employed and
hours worked.
The reports are being made in
response to a questionnaire sent
to 475 concerns employing 10
men or more. All were urged to
adopt a working plan similar to
the 40-hour week program endors-
ed by the campaign leader*.
