Brown and other administration
officials far more concern than
even the weighty problem of pur-
chasing an automobile large
enough to accommodate- a high
silk hat.
' It's the question of deciding
where Cincinnati's proposed fed-
eral building is to be built. The
controversy, which started out
tamely a year ago, has reached
proportions where. whatever
course is decided upn will have
state wide and possibly national
political significance.
Spoil City Plan.
Learning President Hoover's in-
terdepartmental public buildings
committee favored a site at Syca-
more and Court Streets on the
parkway system. Mayor Russell
Wilson and the . ity Planning
: Commission vigorously opposed
such a location on the grounds it
would spoil the entire city plan.
The opposition became general
when it became known that P.
Lincoln Mitchell, agent for the
property owners and prominent in
Republican politics, had a finan-
cial interestin this site.
Formidable sentiment has de-
veloped for retaining the present
postoffice site including indorse-
—ments of the Cincinnati Chamber
ot Commerce. bar' association,
commercial club and Cincinnatus
Club.
But Mr. Brown and other offi-
cials say that Congress appropri-
ated money for a new site with
the understanding that the pres-
ent building and site would be
sold for a sum sufficient to de-
fray costs of a new site and build-
ing. Wednesday Treasury Secre-
tary Ogden Mills declared that in
the interests of economy the gov-
ernment ought not to either con-
struct a new federal building in
Cincinnati or even remodel the
present structure.
Trouble for Brown.
"It seems to me that the wise
thing to do will be to wait until
the present economic storm is
over and then reconsider the Cin-
cinnati situation," Secretary Milla
said.
As Cincinnati, aitho normally
Republican, was carried by Gov-
ernor Roosevelt at the last elec-
tion, Ohio Republicans are dll’
turbed over Mills' position. They
point out that if the Hoover ad-
ministration fails to give Cincin-
nati a new building that the on-
coming Democratic regime cer-
tainly will do so and cash in po-.
litically.
So Postmaster General Brown
and his associates who must soon
make a decision are confronted
with trouble regardless of what
course they take.

Fed Milk For Two Weeks, Drop
Thru Loeked Jaws
By United Press.
EL PASO, Dec. 23.—Carmen
Duran, who had one chance in
10 to recover from a tetanus in-
fection. won his fight though he
was fed for two weeks only on
milk and orange juice—and that
drop by drop through locked
jaws and cupped lips.
At the end of the fortnight, he
could open his mouth half an
inch and doctors said he would
recover completely, tho tetanus
kills 90 per cent of its victims.
