One of the most exciting events
that has happened about town in
a long time, was a visit from Loretta
Young and manager. Her visit was
very unexpected and no one would
have known of it had it not been
for a note she wrote on the table
cloth with pencil addressed to Mary
Martin and Weatherford. She wished
them the best of everything and
apologized for not telling anyone of
her appearance.

With the fast approach of the
Christmas season comes frantic ap-
peals from the fairer sex concerning
what to wear to the many Noel
parties. For the gals we suggest
things along a pastel line—bustle
dresses with a dinky matching vel-
vet turban in one of those soft, in-
teresting fall shades. A tiny fur cape
and matching muff adds zip and dask
to any costume. For evening, a soft,
wooly, hooded capeto top off your
evening gowns.
For just plane campus cuteness we
nominate Jayne Russell in her deep
purple wool skirt, orchid sweater
and matching jacket. Nanella Bible
also deserves honorable mention as
she arrives for her eight o’clock
classes looking as fresh as a daisy
in a black and white checked wool

That gal McGee really showed her
stuff being elected football sweet-
heart. Personally, we don’t believe
a better choice would have been pos-
sible. Congratulations, “Spider.”
Don’t Jack and Mary Neal make
a swell couple? They just go to-
gether like Scotch and Soda!
Our congratulations to Tanner,
Gillenwater and Jarnigan for their
honors. These three guys have led
through the football season and will
probably have a great deal to say
about what goes on the rest of the
year.
Profuse thanks to Mrs. Works for

dress. । .1
Breath taking was Sarah Beth
Meredith as she ascended from one
of those foggy mornings last week
in a sky blue full skirted dress ac-
cented with a baby pink angora jac-
ket.
I
Most shocking: Paul Agnew, flash-
ing around in a sweater of the sea-
son’s most promising color—stop
light red.
Sensational: Mildred Bruce strut-
ting to chorus practice in purple
slacks with a dashing Joseph’s coat.
FLASH! The newest things: those
ducky white ski shoes with the
fuzzy cuff; red hair, which several
of the boys have inherited over-night
with the aid of a can of henna; tons
and tons of “junkyard jewelry”;
comfortable white overalls with
Weatherford College spralled over
the back; cute, bright colored angora
socks.

Orchids galore to the bell of the
ball Wednesday night. Of course she
was none other than that sweet sen-
ior Bobbie Doss. Say—why can’t
these fems wear evening dresses
, more often—the change is heart-
warming.
Does anyone know of any place
place where we can give dances
other than the studio? The charges
at this joint are practically unlaw-
ful This is the main reason more
dances aren’t given by college studes.
