If Napoleon loses his crown, let him seek

about Csar; and the circumstances of. this
war very appropriately suggest a history of ’
Alexahder. The march of the French troops
from the Rhine to Paris affords an excellent

GENAN SENTIMENT.—A prominent German
paper says Germany does not care what sort
of a government France may ehoose. She
may declare a Republic, restore the Bourbons,

France; it says, will have to pay the cost of

B. Sabin. Flanagan owes his election
to geographical position. Glenn and
Sabin had both rendered the party in-
valuable service at Washington during
the canvass. Both are able men, and
were really entitled to any reward the
party had to bestow. But as the
western member had been settled on,
the east must be pacjfied, and as Gov-
ernor Flanagan was the strongest in
that portion of the State, he bore off
the prize. Gen. Clark was opposed
principally because he had been electe
। to the lower House, where it was the
wish of the party he should serve his
term.
