W EATHER and Drr.—Yesterday was another
warm day, perhaps the warmest of the sea-
son. The nights are getting warmer and the
dry north wind is anything but invigorating.
No one is likely to keep well who is not care-
ful in his diet. With improper or excessive
food the stomach is overtaxed, the liver and
bowels obstructed, and the blood deteriorated.
Eat less food and especially less meat. More
fruit should be taken. Avoid stale vegetables.
If you have not good, potatoes eat none, for
poer potatoes are very unwholesome. If you
have good potatoes bake or boil them, and
not fry or hash, eat with fresh cream instead

hors wagon up Main street; and when
near Bexley’s sonter, the scene of the firing
by the three unknown parties, he drew one
of his revolvers and fired two shots in the
air. Policoman Edward Hester pursued and
soon oyertook the offender. When the wag-
oner fired the second shot in the sir, he made
nee of ezpreesions of contempt abd defiance of
the city authorities, and cried out “Where is
your policemen 7“ At this moment the police-
man was ooming’up on the right, and just in
the rear of the desperado’s wagon, when
McCoy took deliberate aim and fired at the
policeman; policeman saved himself by sud-
denly stepping behind McCoy’s wagon: po-
linemen then stepped to the right of McCoy’s
wagon, when ah exchange of shots simulta-
neously occurred between them: policeman
then stepped out to the right of Mc-
Coy’s wagon, when another exchange of
shots occurred at tic same time.
