ing near' Call, Tex., took place here
yesterday. The remains were
brought here Saturday, this being the
former home of his wife.
Mr. Dowling. in company with two
companions, was hunting nineteen
miles from Call when shot.
The party had gathered around a
fire about dark, and Dowling raked
some brush Into the fire, not know-
ing the guns were leaning against
the nearby tree. Both barrels of one
of the guns exploded, the charge tak-
ing effect In Dowling's leg just above
the ankle. His companions soon
stopped the flow of bl nod but before
a doctor could be secured the wound-
ed man succumbed to the shock and
died.
