each subsitute for wood. 10 new
uses are found, he said.
He said 40 per cent of com-
merciet timber land is to the
South, and that timber can be
grown by absentee landowners
with a minimum of worry end
labor prdblems. But, he caution-
ed, timber, like any other crop,
need, managing.
This includes careful cutting,
thinning, removal of undergrow-
th to allow seeding, and even, on
occasion, fire.
The paper industry is moving
to the South, he commented, and
