Of course, the phrase “disrespect of authority”
might be said to lie at the bottom of most of the prob-
lems of today’s society. We begin with what we call
the small disrespects of authority (we violate the
speed laws, or we pass through a red traffic light when
we think no one is looking). And from this point, we
work to a disrespect for other laws—bigger offenses
. are created.
Of course, when we show disrespect for authority
(laws) we hurt society, and ourselves as well. Man

up visions of Lolita, 17-ycar-
old actress Sue Lyon, trying
to lure Burton away from
Elizabeth Taylor.
The only trouble is that no-
body involved is cooperating.
Conscious of the situation,
Burton is seen alone with the
young actress only when they
are in front of the cameras.
He has vetoed any-rphotos
showing Sue and himself
alone.
As for Sue, she says: “I
don’t see how anyone could
connect us when he spends
all his time with Elizabeth
and I spend all of my time
with Marlo.”----------------------“ —
Mario is actor Hampton
Fancher III. He once worked
as a flamenco dancer in
Spain under an assumed
name that his friends still
use.
Like Miss Taylor, Francher
is often near the set of “Night
of the Iguana.” Whenever Sue
isn’t working, she hurries to
him.
“Night of the Iguana” is
Sue’s first picture since the
sensation-ridden “Lolita,”
which made her a famous 14-
year-old. She has no regrets
about the film or the long
lapse between pictures.

Method acting can be

What Teen-Agers Want and Expect
At a recent discussion involving high school stu-
dents in a nearby city, the teen-agers involved said
that “disrespect of authority” is probably the most
serious problem facing teen-agers today.
And what helps create, this disrespect of authority?
F Too often persons in authority, particularly parents,
fail to enforce rules and regulations laid down by
them, the young people said.
So, you see, teen-agers (if this group be regarded
as representative) want and expect authority, and when
