NEW YORK, Oct. 3 —(UP)—A
four story rooming house in Green-
wich village, believed tohave been
undermined by wrecking operations
next door, collapsed today killing
five men and women and injuring
seven, two of whom are not expect-
ed to- live.
The dead: Mrs. Victoria Court-
arde, 17, her daughter; Frank Bour-
don, 35; Carlo Tournaghi, 29; one
unidentified man.
Lodgers told officials the build-
ing had been shaking for days. Af-
ter a preliminary investigation Dis-
trict Attorney Crain ordered ar-
rest of members of the Fein Wreck-
ing corporation.

iff J. W. Booth on information re-
ceived from Hobart, Okla, that the
man is wanted on a felony warrant.
A letter to the sheriff here stat-
ed that the Hobart sheriff had a
felony warrant and will extradite
the man. Hobart authorities are

Mr. Booth stated that he recov-
ered a suit of clothes at a local

The battle of Cleburne High
School’s Yellow Jackets for recog-
nition as contenders in the cham-
pionship race of the Texas Inter-
scholastic League will be carried
to a foreign field Friday afternoon
as the Black and Gold journeys to
Fort Worth—out where the west
begins but where the grat open
spaces cease—for a game with the
powerful Panthers of Central High.
Beating back in determined
fashion with State Home and North
Side hurled to the way-side, Ole-
burns hopes Friday to gain ven-
geance from Central for an early
season defeat on Rhome Field last
fall. it was the Panthers, led by

leged stronger sex with dirty ears
which would indicate that
since they have gotten away
from the attention of their
mothers they have sorely neg-
lected that part of their
domes.
There's nothing like the
hands of mother employing a
cloth fortified with soap and
water to make a fellow’s neck
and ears presentable. While
it’s humiliating some times to
have to undergo such scrubbings
it’s a pretty good idea to let
the mothers look into the mat-

Moral: Girls with low-necked
and sleeveless dresses and men

—Motor trouble forced Robert
Buck, 16, aviator attempting to set
a new junior transcontinental flight
record, to descent near Glenrio. 70
miles west; of here, today.
He made a safe landing, and the
plane was not damaged, he re-
ported here. A plane left English
field here to assist in repairmg the
motors.
Buck took off for Albuquerque, N.
Mex., at 6:30 a. m. today.
The exact nature of his difficul-
ty was not revealed in a long dis-

A special train will be run to
the Central-Cleburne game at
Fort Worth Friday A 250 tickets
are reserved, it was announced
this afternoon by Oscar Nelson,

The people can make reserva-

The injured parties were taken

Funeral services were to have
been held this afternoon at 4 o'clock
at Midlothian for Howard Tucker
Bingham, 11, who died Wednesday
evening at a local sanitarium. In-
terment was to be in the Midlo-
thian cemetery. The procession
was to leave Cleburne at 2 p. m.
Deceased was brought to this city
Tuesday suffering from a fractured
skull sustained when he fell from
a tree. He is survived by his par-
ent*

when fire destroyed two gymnas-
iums early today.

Blount, 27, of Hillsboro^ was kill-
ed and his body burned to a crisp—F
