Our last Mystery Picture
created much interest this past
week and Mrs. Rena Hager was
the first to correctly identify the
two pretty little girls as Thelma
(Mrs. J. Burgin) Davenport and
her sister, Eunice Lopez.... We
were pleased to have a letter
this week from Mrs. John (Aunt
Myrt) Heinen. She wrote that
she is now living in Marfa,
Texas and her address is: P.O.
Box 503, Marfa, Texas 79843
‘‘We live two miles from Marfa
on Highway 90,” she said. She
would like to hear from her
friends here. . . . During the
August 1978 flood many things
of value were lost—many never
to be recovered. Last Friday
Mrs. Melvin Fitzgerald brought
to our office a Bible which was
recovered from the flood and
brought to the Masonic Lodge
by A.B. Small. The Bible, en-
cased in a leather zipper-type
case, was inscribed as follows:
“Record of marriage of Hollis

Our founding fathers were relatively young men. Their
average age was only 34. Jefferson, the main author of the
historical Declaration of Independence, was only 33 They all
wanted freedom from a blundering bureaucracy. They
wanted adequate representation in government And through
their efforts, dedication and patriotism, we in our country
have had representative government ever since
Our country is not — never has been — and never will be a
Utopia We had faults, still have them — and always will
because we are human With all our faults and mistakes, ours
is still the very best country in this world. We should never
forget that. Through the years, we have NEVER had walls
keeping people from leaving us. It is to our credit that we
have had, and still have long lines of immigrants wanting to
join us No one knows what the future holds for us, as in-
dividuals or as a nation. One thing is clear. For whatever
future lies ahead, we should make sure we deserve God’s
continued blessings. Obviously this requires individual effort
in order to make it a national effort....

did they kill you for?" At the
