Girls' Waterpolo ties with North Shore
The Alvin High School Girls' Waterpolo team tied with North
Shore in a 9-all draw, here Oct. 7, while the AHS Varsity boys fell
19-12 and the JV boys went down in defeat as well, 14-8.
In the girls’ match, Shannon Crawford scored five goals, while Tara
Cobb, Heather Pratt, Heather Troyer and Shelly Stewart contributed
one goal apiece.
David Ives scored six goals to lead the varsity boys and Brian Green
added three.
The JV boys also placed fourth at the District Tourney last week-
end.
Clements sweeps Lady Js' spikers in two
The Alvin Lady Jackets' Varsity Volleyball team lost in straight
sets, 8-15, 5-15, Tuesday night at Clements High School.
Scoring for Alvin (4-7 in District 24-5A) included Julie Hering
with five points, Wendy Ryan with three points, Leah Johnson and
Marissa Meyer with two points each and Amanda McNevin with one
point.
Alvin, who hosted Kempner late Friday night, also plays Dulles
here on Tuesday.
