Recently, you printed an essay
written by mother, Sylvia Nelson,
which nominated me for Brazoria
County Fair Mom When I first
learned that my mother had nomi-
nated me. I have to admit that I was
embarrassed I knew I couldn't pos-
sibly deserve it I didn’t hear her
beautiful essay until the night of
the event After she read her story. I
felt so guilty. I didn't even recog-
nize the “me" that she saw
After thinking a great deal about
it, I realize how fortunate I am I
have a mother who loves me
unconditionally. She chooses only
to see the good in me and amplifies
that good.
During this Christmas season. I
would like to wish all your readers
that they experience being loved
like this. That someone loves them
who sees good things and great pos-
sibilities. Isn’t this what Christmas
is all about? (John 3:16).

computer to receive phone calls
from another remote computer.
Internet differs because it’s a global
network system. Users log onto a
service provider that links them to

The victims in the case said they
were allowed to view the BBS,

My goal for Citizen Sheriff’s

citizens with enough information to
dispel suspicions and misconcep-

and to increase rapport between the
department and the citizens of Bra

process.
I believe that our officers will in

participants will have the opportun-

many officers throughout the

course consists of a series of classes
held each Thursday night each week
for three hours. Each night, differ-

assigned to the different units of the
department.
Course instruction will be cover-

most often in contact with the pub-

really meant to say was “My eyes
are not blind and we re not going to

Amazingly, the Oct. 30 flight
wasn’t the first time that something
like this happened in Las Vegas
The concentrated light beams have
been blamed for 51 incidents in the
last two years involving flights in
and out of three Las Vegas-area air-
ports
Obviously, blinding laser beams
and airplane pilots shouldn’t share
the same airspace. Without ques-
tion, the technological marriage
between lasers and airplanes has yet
to be perfected.
Something needs to be done.
With our amazing technology, we
should somehow fuse the two ideas
together.
Here’s an idea that might just
work: Instead of having the lasers
on the ground, how about attaching
the lasers to the airplanes? Then, it
would be a flying laser show!
That would definitely be someth-
ing special in the air.
