that could extend its city limits to
Deitz Elkhorn Road. This would
extend San Antonio’s ETJ another
five miles, well into Kendall County.
The City of Boerne, which
operates under Texas General Law,
has a statuatory limit of only
one-half mile beyond its city limits
as extra-territorial jurisdiction.
However, property owners, whose
lands lie adjacent to the Boerne
ETJ, may petition to become part of
the city’s voluntary ETJ.
The county action in offering the
Upper Balcones, Scenic Loop, Old
San Antonio, Ammann and other

to the city’s ETJ, permitting
adjacent landowners along the
roads to also petition for inclusion in
the voluntary ETJ.

Kendall County was 1,934 against
appointed members, to 1,549 for the

But local voters weren’t in much
of a mood to add amendments to the

Among the proposals defeated in
Kendall County, but carrying
statewide was Amendment Number

general obligations bonds to fund
undertakings related to attracting a
superconducting super collider
research facility which is being
sought by 24 states. The Kendall
County vote was 1,745 against to
1,644 for the amendments.

Kendall County sheriffs deputies

Austin.
“We had received reports of the
