Split In Natural Main From Storm In
Indiana Brought to Light by Prob*. d
Anderson, Ind. Lightning split a nat-
ural gas main l.i the country near Pen I
diet on during a storm, it was discov-
ered during an investigation ot why
gas pressure was so low in Pendleton.
Frank Rumler, superintendent, found
that a main had been split for several
feet and the gas ignited. A flame ten
feet high was burning. The earth had I
been torn away from the pipe. Several ;
persons living there said the flame ap- i
peared during a storm, and it was sup-
posed the gas company knew about it
to a ghort time.

Twice each year, January and July, we take stock; and not wishing to carry over any goods from
one season to the next, go through the different departments and select every piece and parcel of
goods which we do not wish to carry over and place them on sale at greatly reduced prices. All
goods we offer are of this season’s selling, new and fresh, dependable, and at far below their true
value. We have lost sight of cost and offer our entire stock of summer goods at less than the pres-
ent wholesale cost. We have hundreds of items on sale and in many instances it would pay you
to lay in your wants for the summer of 1917, and thereby save you many dollars on your next
year’s purchases.
Don’t fail to avail yourself of this money saving event.
