gold were beautifully carried out
on the serving table, featuring
the "wise old owl” wearing the
traditional mortarboard and hold-
ing a diploma. Ttie graduation
motif was further carried out in
ttie table cloths, plates, napkins
and cups. A gift was presented
to the guest of honor by the hosts
and hostesses.

with all ttie trimmings and home-
made ice cream were served to

Climaxes Year
Climaxing the 1967-68 dub
year, the Business and Profes-
sional Women’s Club met for its
final dinner at Hollywood Inn in
Mt. Pleasant. Guests were as-
sembled in the sitting room where
they were received by Mrs. N.
L. Conley, Mrs. Leo B. Bennett,
and Mrs. Clovis Harbour.
At 8 o’clock they were seated
in the softly lighted Magnolia
Room where white laid tables
were decorated in a profusion of
exotic flower arrangements. A
delicious buffet style dinner was
served.
The invocation was spoken by
Mrs. N. L Conley.
At a brief business meeting
following the dinner, Mrs. Lon-
nie Tennison, retiring president,
thanked the members of tiie club
for their loyalty and cixiperation
during the past year and predic-
ted success in the club projects
for the coming 1968-69 season.
Plans were formed for dele-
gates to represent the club at
the state convention in Austin,
June 14,15, and 16. Delegates
attending the convention will be

identical gowns of yellow satin Miss Jeannie Sickles, who as-
accented with empire bodices
and bell sleeves of yellow lace.
Their headpieces were cabbage
roses of yellow satin and tulle
veils. A single strand of pearls
completed each of their en-
sembles. Each carried a single
yellow mum backed with a car-
nelia leaf shield and ribtxin-
wrapped stem

Burns, brother of the bride,
groom, and Mike Barnes, were

Robert Henry Garmon, III was
the ring bearer. He carried a
white pillow with ribbon stream-
ers tied in love knots. Miss Kelly
Gaylean was the flower girl. Her
dress was similar to that of the
bride’s attendants. She carried
a yellow basket with ribbon '
streamers containing yellow and
a gave an interesting story illus-
trating the importance of chil-
dren learning the lesson of obe-
dience, both to their parents, and
to those in authority. ,
Earlier in the month the chil-
dren honored their mothers with
the tniditional Mothers Day Tea
at which time each mother was
presented with a silhouette of
her child, made by the school.

Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Chapman,
1026 North Davis Street. Hosts
for the event were Jeff Massey
and Mark Chapman.
Fresh flower arrangements in
the gold and blue school colors
decorated the reception area. The
buffet table was centered with
a graduation doll and blue and
gold flowers. The place cards
were miniature diplomas, tied
in blue and gold ribbons, and a
world globe, wearing a mortar-
board further accented the grad-
uation motif. A gift of luggage
was presented to Wood by his
hosts.
