to drive a bunch of 500 cattle
from the Lytle, Natalia, Gold-'

Batesville for. Joe Amberson, San'

55-mile trek was started on Fri-

boy regalia that the Old Trail
Drivers used in the long ago. I
The chuck wagon was a 4-
wheel trailer and a Mexican cook
yelled “come get it” at an early'
hour that morning before the
boys got the herd moving. The
drive was by circuitous route be-’
cause of the need for avoiding
the much used highways and it
was estimated that from four to
five days would be required in
which to complete the journey. |
Monday's Daily Light carried
pictures of the herd and of - the
cowboys and outlined the trip to
be made across country.

THERE’S a lot of work attach-

Coate school board. The matter
of procuring additional ground as

deal has been closed, it may be
. weeks yet before the papers are
finally passed. * Then the matter
of letting a contract is going to
take some time, so we may not
expect a new school building be-

call for an exceptionally good
