ceived a perfect #1 rating at
the UIL Marching Contest
held Saturday, Nov. 10, In
Hondo. Medina Valley was
1 out of 8 bands receiving a
#1 rating out of the 27
schools entered.

varsity band with a perfect #1
rating, reported Mrs. Nora Fay
Boehme.
“The judges were very compli-
mentary, saying the MV band put
on a great show'. And, they were
extremely impressed with the
band members and director,
Darrel Gan," said Mrs. Boehme.
Among highlights Was a solo on
Macarena by John Debner; a
French horn quartet in Emperata
Overture with Melissa Christilles,
Dawn Blakemore, Laura Jungman
and Polly Haby performing; and a
trumpet duet in Emperata Over-
ture by Norma Raygosa and
