gram from the War Department
Tuesday night, Jan. 29, 1946:
- "You are authorized to announce
that Hondo' Army Air Field,
Hondo, Texas, has been declared
surplus to the needs of the Army
on 29 January."
'Major Sheffield declined to com-
ment on the announcement. Hondo
Army Air Field was inactivated
as of Dec. 31, 1945; and only a
skeleton staff remains at the field.
