• Allison and Denise King, daughters of
James and Jacquelyn King of Wallis, are
celebrating their fifth and fourth birthdays.
The girls Were born with spinal muscular
dystrophy and are 98 percent immobile, but
“happy as any kids can be,” her parents say.
• Sealy is competing with other cities its
size throughout the state in the “Keep
Texas Beautiful” contest. The Garden Club
of Sealy will lead the effort called “Make
Sealy Sparkle.”
• Tourism was the chief topic at a Sealy
Chamber of Commerce meeting. The cham-
ber is funding two tourist bureau publica-
tions.
• Local Episcopalians are hosting their
annual Epicurean Evening.
• The Sealy Tiger offense is only return-
ing three starters from last year’s playoff
squad: John Zapalac, Nathan Little and
Billy Little. About 110 athletes are report-
ing for fall practice.
