Over the weekend of Sept. 11 and 12, four
Cat Spring Firemen attended “Smoke Diver”
training school at the fire training grounds in
Beaumont. Tim Lapham, Brian Havevisher,
John Simpson and Kevin Schulk (new mem-
ber) completed what is said to be a difficult
training course. Shayne Carter, an assistant
chief here in Cat Spring has been an instruc-
tor at the school for several years and Tim
Lapham was invited back next year to be an
instructor for the school.
Get well wishes go to Earl Wolchick who
underwent by-pass surgery in a Houston
Hospital last week. He is doing fine at this
time and we all hope he’ll be home soon.
Mrs. Clarence Dittert received happy birth-
day wishes Friday. A group of her relatives
and friends wished her a happy day and
enjoyed delicious lunch with her and her fam-
ily.
Saturday Mrs. Valora Engelbrecht received
happy birthday wishes. Her children and fam-
ilies came to be with her and I’m sure there
were plenty of goodies to eat.
Get well wishes also go to Milton Nelson,
father of Travis Nelson (my neighbor), who
had ankle surgery last week. He’s home and
doing alright.
Mrs. Lonie Michaelis had her girls during
the weekend and she is doing better too.
Several ladies of the church and Pastor
Haug enjoyed a Bible study session
Wednesday afternoon. Come and join us next
month.
