NEW DISTRICT CREATED
County Commissioners Grant Per-
mission for >’rw High Sc hool.
Permission was given by the coun-
ty commissioners Thursday morning
for the dividing of school district
No. 9. Los Angeles Heights into two
districts the second to be known as
No. 18 there having been no such
number heretofore. The residents
of the new No. 18 wish to vote bonds
for the erection of a modern high
school and County School Superin-
tendent P. F. Stewart laid the mat-
ter before the commissioners.
Professor Stewart explained that
all the residents In what has been
No. 9 were perfectly willing that the
division of the district be made.
This ho said would enable No. 18
to get its high school by the levy
of additional taxes while it would
allow No. 9 to pursue the even tenor
of its way undisturbed by elections.
On Professor Stewart’s recommenda-
tion that the move was a good one
the commissioners issued the neces-
sary orders. The new district will
prepare at once for the election
which shall determine whether or
not they will issue bonds to erect
their high school building.
Scott on Inspection Tour.

tion. He spent the day in conference
