A man was teaching his
dog how to play poker. When
the neighbors remarked how
smart the dog must be, the
man said with a shrug, “Not
so smart, whenever he has
a good hand, he gives it
away by wagging his tail.”

Cockrum, S.O.S., and Mrs.
Beth Miles, Transportation
Coordinator.
Last, but not least, Mr.
Norman Duren, Chairman of
the HCCAA Regional Area
Board. At the noon hour,
Mr. Fred Whittenberg intro-
duced the guests and they
were given a hearty
welcome. Judge Faulkner
asked God’s blessing on the
food, which was highly com-
plimented by all, many going
so far as to say it was
the best meal eaten on the
tour. Mrs. Gladys Cockrum,
director of Goldthwaite Cen-
ter, and other staff mem-
bers, wish to express their
thanks to each of you who
brought food, register e d
guests, and helped in the
kitchen (both before and af-
ter lunch). It was because
of your generous help that
the day was a success. Then,
too, we would not forget
the men. Brian Smith donated
a delicious smoked turkey,
as well as other goodies,
for the kitchen. Brian Og-
lesby was there early to
help set uptables and chairs,
and Lewis Eubank ran er-
rands all morning, both in
and out. So a big ’Thanks’
to each and every one of you.
Our guests left happy and
filled, wishing us good luck
in our new Center, with many
promising to visit us there.
