ten yard loss for the Lobos.
On a second and ten play from the 41, Deeds
hit over left tackle and then cut straight up the
field. He almost made it to the end zone, but the
Cisco defender had the angle and Bobby was
tackled at the one. The play covered 58 yards.
From there Miles took the ball over the goal line
with a quarterback sneak. The Eagles now led
27-0 with 2:04 to go in the half. Henry’s kick
sailed under the crossbar.
Deeds intercepted a Cisco pass on the next
drive and the Eagles had a first and ten from the
Lobo 18 yard line. A pass was incomplete at the
goal line, intended for Patrick, but the Lobos
were flagged for interference at the three yard
fine. Another pass, intended for Trint Tupin in
the EZ was intercepted by Cisco and returned out
to the 10 yard line. Cisco ran out the clock.
A couple of fumbles resulted in the opportunis-
the right flat for a big 18 yard gain down to the Cisco 32 yard line.
On the first down try, Horton hit on a quick trap over fight guard
and ran through the Lobos all the way for a score. Henry’s PAT kick
was good and the Eagles lead had increased to 21-0 with 6:12 to go
in the first half.
Shutting down the Lobos on their next drive, the Eagles defensive
unit held on a fourth down again and the Eagles took over on their
own 41 yard line. Henry was credited with a sack that resulted in a

again with a score of 38 to 32.
Smelling victory, the Bulldog de-

Now the Bulldogs move on to
the Regional play-offs. The 'Dogs

Friday night, November 14,
1997, the Mullin Bulldogs
wrapped up a Bi-District title by
defeating the Richland Springs
Coyotes in a hard-fought game
at Rogan Field in San Saba. The
game stayed close through-out
with the Bulldogs hitting pay
dirt first on a 30 yard run from
Greg Strasser. Josh Mejia kicked
the extra point and the Bulldogs
led by an 8 to 0 score.
Then Richland Springs' No. 5
man made a 25 yard touchdown
run to put the Coyotes on the

The Goldthwaite Eagle will be
tic Lobos getting two touchdowns at the beginning of the second
half. The first occurred at the Cisco 29 yard line. A pass completion
of 27 yards got the Lobos on the board. The PAT was good and the
game was now 27-7 with 6:00 to go in the third.
The next fumble recovery happened just three plays later and
Cisco took over on the Eagles 31 this time. A pass play netted 15
and then a blast over left tackle was good for the score. The PAT
sailed left and the Eagles lead was cut to 27-13.
A huge 84 yard drive was put together by the Eagles on their

board. The extra point was good
and the game was tied at eight
points each.
Richland Springs pulled
ahead with a 27 yard run by
number 45. Their extra point
try was good and the Coyotes
went out front by a score of 16 to
8.
Mullin's Scott Seago then
made a 30 yard run for a touch-
down and Greg Strasser added
the kick to tie up the game at 16.
Richland Springs' No. 45
struck again with a 10 yard run.
The extra point attempt was
good and the Coyotes were back
in the lead.
Just before half time, Strasser
made a 10 yard run, but this
time the extra point attempt
failed and the Coyotes led at
half time by a score of 24 to 22.
The second half found both
teams very cold and wet. The
Bulldogs put the first points on
the score board with a three yard
run from Strasser. Danny York
kicked the extra point and the
'Dogs were back in front, 30 to
24.
Then Richland Springs made
a 45 yard run, tacked on the
extra points, and pulled ahead
with a 32 to 30 score. The cold

It was a cold and rainy night in Brownwood. Well, so much for
the weather. It may have been discomforting for the fans in the
stands but the Eagles were hot as steam as they rolled over the
Cisco Lobos 41-20 in a Class AA Bi-District game last Friday
evening at Gordon Wood Stadium.
Cisco muffed its on-side kick to open the game and gave the
Eagles good field position on the Cisco 46 yard line. From there
running back Bobby Deeds, quarterback Steven Miles and fullback
Chance Horton blasted the Cisco defense for
action and picked up some nice yardage. As
the quarter ended, the Eagles had a first down
on the Cisco 41 yard line. Deeds took the handoff from Miles, broke
a shoestring tackle attempt, and raced all the way into the end
zone for the Eagles second score of the game. A nice pass play from
Miles to Matt Patrick netted the two points after and with 11:51 to
go in the half, the Eagles led 14-0.
Cisco came out throwing on their next drive and had some
moderate success, moving the ball from their own 35 to the Eagles
35. A fourth down pass fell incomplete and the Eagles took over on
downs.
Wright and Deeds had good runs and then Miles hit Deeds in

Eagles. Kickoff at Shotwell Stadium will be 7:30 p.m.

Eagles had the lead 6-0 with 7:43 to go in the
first period. The point after kick by Daniel
Henry failed.
Cisco took over on its own 24 after the
kickoff and put together a little drive of their
own. A quarterback sack by Horton and fellow
linebacker Julian Hernandez stopped the
drive on the Eagles 40 yard line and Cisco
punted.
Those would be the only plays the Lobos
would have in the first quarter, as the Eagles
took the ball from their own 15 and marched
like the Romans down the field.
This time, halfback Kris Wright saw some
