Pirates Medal For
Fifth Straight Year
Last Friday, November 14,
1997, the Priddy Pirates and
Lady Pirates traveled to Round
Rock for the State Cross Coun-
try Meet and found fair weather
and a solid course. The Pirates
were scheduled to run the day
after on Saturday, November 15.
On Saturday the weather
changed a great deal and it was
for the worst. With occasional
rain and very low temperatures,
many schools had a hard time
running through the slippery,
mud covered course.
The Priddy High School boys
ran an excellent race under these
conditions and did so for the Sec-
ond Place trophy. State cham-
pion individual for the class 1A
division from Priddy High School
was Brandun Massingill who fin-
ished with an extraordinary time
of 17:34.

However, even the strongest phytoestrogens
have only 1 to 2% the potency of human estrogens. Beware of
claims for the benefits of unfortified wild yam creams which are
becoming popular in health food stores - these creams should not be
used as a substitute for hormone replacement. Some individuals
claim that phytoestrogen-containing herbs ease disorders of
menstruation and menopausal symptoms, and researchers think that
phytoestrogens might also reduce the risk of breast cancer. There is
growing evidence that adequate soy protein may help lower
cholesterol and have other beneficial effects. Plant foods do
provide antioxidant protection that can enhance your health.
