Tool box taken from
pickup truck bed
A toolbox, complete with wren-
ches, sockets, and other tools, was
reported stolen from the bed of a
pickup truck last Tuesday night
The owner of the tool box, Roy C.
Burk, reported the theft to Giddings
police. Value of the tools was
estimated at $100.
He said that he had parked his 1989
Chevrolet pickup at 639 North Leon
St. during the night. The tool box and
tools were taken during the night,
said police.

Arthur Jones of Giddings was
westbound on U.S 290 in the outside
lane and observed a deer crossing
the road southbound The driver
braked, but was unable to avoid
striking the deer, said Trooper
Oppermann.
There were no injuries reported in
the accident.

CD player stolen
from parked vehicle
A CD player was stolen from a
parked 1988 Chevrolet Camaro
Tuesday night in the 100 block of
West Bryan in Giddings
Doris Bell reported the break-in of
her car to Giddings police
Wednesday morning.
Police said the passenger side
window of the vehicle was shattered
and the in-dash JVC CD player
removed. Officers said the inside of
the vehicle was ransacked
Police took photographes and
fingerprints from the vehicle.
Frisch Auf! vandalism
at swimming pool solved
Three adults and four juveniles
have been arrested in connection
with the vandalism at the Frisch
Auf' swimming pool at LaGrange
Those placed under arrest were
Pauline Rocha, 21, and Mary
Velasquez, 19, both of Austin, and
Gumercindo Valdez, 31, of Plum,
along with four juveniles who have
been turned over to the Juvenile
Probation Department.
Back on June 5, individuals
allegedly crawled over the fence at
the swimming pool, breaking tables
and throwing chairs and flower pots
into the pool A large mirror was
also broken and some umbrellas
were broken and stolen
Total damage was estimated at
$1,500.

Windshiled, headlights
knocked out of car
Giddings police met with Roy Lee
Wolridge at the police station Friday
afternoon about 1 p.m Mr. Wolridge
complained that someone had
knocked out the headlights and
windshield of his car.
He reported that a suspect
damaged his 1980 AMC car at 779
South Polk St. by using a hammer.
Damage to the vehicle was
estimated at $280
Bicycle stolen from
local residence
A girls mountain bike was
reported stolen Thursday, July 8.
from a Giddings residence.
Mary Francis Arriaga reported
the theft of her daughter's bicycle to
Giddings police.
She said someone had entered her
property during the night and had
taken the 10-speed mountain bike.
The bike is turquoise, black and
purple, with pink handlebars.

Ashley, born on June 25, 1993 at 9:50
a.m. at Strong Memorial Hospital in
Rochester, New York. She weighed 5
