Tire Certificates Are
Valid Indefinitely In
Hands of Dealers
Since there is a shortage of
Grade III tires (new war tires,
used tires, recapped tires) in
the hands of dealers and whole-
salers it is possible that • some
certificates may expire in the
hands of consumers unless they
place their order with a dealer
and leave their certificate with
him.
Certificates for tires, tubes,
and camelback issued to con-
sumers are valid indefinitely in
the hands of dealers although
good for only thirty days in the
hands of the consumer. There-
fore, if you hold a certificate
for tires, tubes or camelback,
place your certificate in the
hands of a dealer to avoid the
expiration of your certificates.

announced in detail later by

WHEN YOU HEAR:
A long, steady blast on an air
raid siren, horn, or whistle—
This is the BLUE signal—This
means enemy planes probably
coming your way.
Blackout the lights in your
home and business house. Eith-
er draw your blackout curtains
or turn the lights off.
If you are in your automobile
on the street or road: Switch
your lights to the low beam—
proceed wherever you were go-
ing— proceed with caution—
start thinking about getting to
a safe place.
If you are walking: Continue
to walk—Start thinking where
you will go if a raid signal fol-

WHEN YOU HEAR:
A series of short blasts on the
air raid horn or whistles or a
rising and falling sound on the
air raid siren—This is the RED
signal — This means enemy
plans are overhead.
Keep your lights blacked out.
If you are riding in your au-

—turn off your lights—get out
—go to the nearest air raid
shelter.
If you are walking: Go to the
nearest air raid shelter—get off
the street.
If you are on a streetcar or
bus: Get out—go to the nearest
air raid shelter.
REMEMBER:
After the RED signal there
will be a BLUE signal. This
does not mean “ALL CLEAR.”
This means enemy planes no
longer overhead. Keep on alert.
Enemy planes may return.
YOU MUST:
Keep your lights blacked out.
If you were in your automo-
bile prior to the “RED” signal,
you may get back into it, turn
the lights on the low beam, and
proceed wherever you were go-
ing. Proceed with caution.
If you were walking prior to
the “RED” signal, you may re-
sume walking.
If you were in a streetcar or
bus, you may get back into it
and proceed.
REMEMBER:
A BLUE signal may not al-
ways precede a RED signal.
There may not be time enough.
But a BLUE signal always fol-
lows a RED signal.
