- An insulation, blanket can dress your water heater
for energy success, especially if the heater is
located in an unheated area of your home. In-
sulating the hot water pipes leaving the heater
and adding a heat trap loop can also save energy.
Another way to save on the cost of heating water
is to keep the heater set between 120° to 140 °F.
As a final money-saving accessory, consider a
timer for the heater so that the heater doesn't cy-
cle on when you're not home.

pany office and ask for the free booklet, "Energy

good athletes," Goodman said.
Goodman's assistant and junior
varsity softball coach Sandra Howell
agreed.
"It gives the girts somewhere local
to play, instead of having to go out
of town," she said.
Similar sentiment was echoed by
former Alvin Sliver Streaks Coach
Frank Kelemen. •
Kelemen coached softball in this
area for 15 years.
"I don't think they'll have a hard
time finding people to play, because
softball is already real popular in
i this area," he said. "Even though,
there are only a few junior college
softball programs in Texas, there's
several teams in the nation with a
national title (NJCAA) for the best
team."
Childs is scheduled to meet with
the college deans sometime this
week to discuss initial plans for the
campus' future sport
"We're going to talk about the
field construction with dugouts and a
fence," he said. "We hope to also re-
ceive a general feel about how we’re
going to look for a head coach and
scheduling teams for the first season

stated that the softball scholarships
would be close in line to the men's
baseball program, which receives 16.

but they will definitely be in equal

Childs added.
