prise her with a lemon meringue
pie, here are some tips to keep in
mind:
•Check the weather report. If it’s
going to be humid or rainy, head
to the park or read a book because
high humidity can make meringue
spongy and sticky. Be careful not
to get any egg yolk in the whites
when you separate the eggs— Even
a little speck of yolk will keep the
whites from beating up nice and
fluffy. Gradually add all the sugar
while beating the egg whites so
that it dissolves completely. To

registration
If you’ve been thinking about
taking college courses, now is the
time to get started. Regular regis-
tration for Summer I classes at
Alvin Community College and the
Pearland College Center is sched-
uled for May 30. Summer I
includes both six- and 12-week
classes. Registration is conducted
in the library on the ACC and the
PCC campuses, and students may
register at either location.
Students will register alphabeti-
cally by last name as indicated
below. Students may also register
after their assigned time or during
the open periods.
Schedule Changes* - 8:30-9
a.m.; A, B, C - 9-10 a.m.; D, E, F,
G - 10-11 a.m.; H, I, J, K, L - 11
a.m.-noon; M, N, O, P and Open -
noon-1 p.m., no registration 1-5
p.m.; Q, R, S, T - 5-6 p.m.; U, V,
W, X, Y, Z and Open - 6-7 p.m.
*May 30 only, for students who
paid for early registration
Students must show a driver’s
license or a Texas DPS ID card to
be admitted. Tuition and fees must
be paid at the time of registration.
Students may pay with cash,
check, money order, ATM card, or
credit card.
