Brett Weinberger, director of Parks and Recreation for the City of
Alvin, recently met with the AMn Area Association of Retired School
Employees in the Alvin Senior Citizen Center. Weinberger gave an
interesting and informative overview of the work of the AMn Parks
and Recreation Department Among other things, he discussed the
completion of the Blakeney Hike and Bike Trail, improvements to the
Bob Owens swimming pool and future plans for the railroad depot.
A discussion of the numerous other parks in the city was followed by
an extensive period of questions from the audience. His presentation
was followed by a business meeting and refreshments.
