Park-Site Plan
County of Lee - Participation
The County of Lee will pur-
chase a tract of land from the
Lee County Fair Association,
for the sum of $10,000.00 to be
used as a Park-Site.
The County of Lee will allo-
cate $1,000.00 yearly for im-
provements on this land of a
type to be chosen by the county.
Should the well to be drilled
by the City of Giddings prove
not able to secure suitable wa-
ter for pool and park use, the
County of Lee will pay one-
half of the loss incurred by the
City in this water well attempt,
but in this case the land would
not be purchased from the Lee
County Fair Association.
Should the swimming pool
be not located at the park-site,
or on the Lee County Fair As-
sociation lands, the project will
be dropped and abandoned

A county-wide meeting
planned for Saturday, Oct 17.
According to Sheriff Good-at 2:30 p. m. at the County
County. City and
Fair Association Agreement:
The County of Lee, the City
of Giddings and the Lee County
Fair Association have tenta-
tively approved a plan for de-
veloping the park-site at the
Fair Grounds. The plan is as
follows:
ty park with a swimming pool
will soon become a reality.
According to the encouraging
news disclosed by the city,
county and Fair Association of-
ficials, a tract of land for the
Dark will be purchased by the
county from the Fair Associa-
tion. The City of Giddings
will also purchase a tract of
land, will have a well dug for
the proposed swimming pool,
and will sell the water to the
pool association. Both the city
and the county will provide
for maintenance in their annu-
al budgets. As their part in the
joint program, the Fair Asso-
ciation will purchase 50 shares
($5,000) of stock in the swim-
ming pool association.
The joint proposal will now
be made to the swimming Pool
Association, inasmuch as the
continued progress in the pro-
jected park depends on the lo-
cation of the swimming pool in
the park area.
So that all readers of The
Giddings News can know all of
the details of the joint agree-
ment by the City, County, and
Fair Association, the press re-
lease is printed herewith in
