until Sept. 15 for the Brazelton In-
fant Health Advocacy Award, an
award presented during the confer-
ence to a Texan whose advocacy
efforts have gone beyond regular
professional or parenting responsibi-
lities.
Dr. Brazelton, a former Texan
known internationally as a pioneer in
the field of infant mental health, was
the recipient of the first award in
1990.
Nominations should be mailed to
Elaine Shiver at 6600 LBJ Freeway,
140-LB-4, Dallas, TX 75240.
The recipient of the award will re-
ceive $1,000 and a numbered repro-
duction of the original statuette pre-
sented to Dr. Brazelton last year.
The award will be given for efforts
in Texas on behalf of issues or needs
in the field of infant mental health
from July 1, 1989, through June 30,
1991.
Current officers of participating or
co-sponsoring organizations will not
be eligible to receive the award un-
less they have initiated cross orga-
nization or discipline efforts on the
part of their professional group
which differ from that organization’s
mode of operating in the past. The
prior mode and the change effected
are to be documented by the nomi-
nating party.
